Director: Ken Russell
Cast: Rudolf Nureyev, Leslie Caron, Michelle Phillips
An account of the exotic career of the sexually ambiguous Twenties movie idol.
An impeccable period recreation with customary Russell amusements, the director's decision to play director Rex Ingram being one of the less happy. Not much soul, either. Kendal's is the only character who comes across at all and, professional loyalty aside, one wonders if it was absolutely necessary to get Dudley Sutton in to wank on a prison cell floor.
