(Nineteen Eighty-Four)

Country: GB
Technical: col 110m
Director: Michael Radford
Cast: John Hurt, Richard Burton, Suzanna Hamilton

Synopsis:

In a totalitarian society of the future, Winston Smith works rewriting history for the state, until one day he chooses to rebel by falling in love. But the eyes and ears of Big Brother are everywhere.

Review:

A far too glum and imprecise adaptation of the novel to have any cinematic impetus, with an impressive production which finishes up by grating on the nerves somewhat.
