The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 88m
Director: Nathan Juran
Cast: Kerwin Mathews, Kathryn Grant, Torin Thatcher

Synopsis:

Sinbad is coerced by the magician Sakurah into commandeering a crew of desperate men to recover a magic lamp and reverse the spell that has shrunk the princess of the Caliph's former enemy, jeopardizing a fragile peace.

Review:

Plenty of monsters and mythical creatures from Ray Harryhausen's animation workshop enliven this otherwise leaden pastiche of Arabian Nights tropes. Highlights include a duel with a skeleton that presages Jason and his men's similar confrontation a few years later, and Bernard Herrmann again proves the ideal musical advocate.
