Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 94m
Director: Adam McKay
Cast: Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, Fred Willard

Synopsis:

Ron Burgundy, unregenerated anchorman of an unregenerated San Diego TV news network, has his worldview turned upside down with the arrival of a beautiful and capable wannabe anchorwoman.

Review:

Embarrassingly inept comedy, with material to sustain a five-minute Saturday Night Live sketch. It does not even have the courage of its sexist satire (she falls for the ignorant jerk in no time), and fills up instead on cheap gags and cheap sentiment. Various guest stars lend their support - Tim Robbins, Jack Black, Vince Vaughn - but to no avail. Welcome to the comedic world of Judd Apatow.
