Anima Nera (1962)

£0.00

Country: IT/FR
Technical: bw 97m
Director: Roberto Rossellini
Cast: Vittorio Gassman, Annette Stroyberg, Nadja Tiller

Synopsis:

A bisexual former rent boy aspires to move into the sumptuous villa a former (male) lover has left him, but his past life comes back to haunt him.

Review:

The 'black soul' is supposedly society's view of the Gassman character's past, which includes sleeping with the enemy. However, instead of a gay aristo like Visconti the film got the socialist Rossellini, and is something of a travesty.
