Anne of the Thousand Days (1969)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col/scope 146m
Director: Charles Jarrott
Cast: Richard Burton, Geneviève Bujold, John Colicos, Irene Papas, Anthony Quayle

Synopsis:

Henry VIII meets and becomes enamoured of Anne, divorces Catherine, fails to procure a male heir, and has his courtiers find grounds to make way for wife number three.

Review:

The film that had us all enamoured of the lovely Miss Bujold, but Burton wasn't bad either when he wasn't ranting too much. It is all a little longer than it needs to be and in any case was eclipsed a few years later by Keith Michell's attempt at all six.
