L'amour en fuite (1979)

£0.00

(Love on the Run)

Country: FR
Technical: col 95m
Director: François Truffaut
Cast: Jean-Pierre Léaud, Marie-France Pisier, Claude Jade, Dorothée

Synopsis:

Antoine Doinel separates from his long-term partner Christine and coincidentally regains contact with adolescent love Colette, who is now a lawyer. All the same, he takes up with a record seller called Sabine.

Review:

The title refers to Antoine's habit of running away from anything that looks too comfortable, too uncomplicated, like the Woody Allen analogy in Annie Hall. After this fifth appearance of the Léaud character you could be forgiven if your own tolerance for him were running out. Still, sad in a way, in a few years Truffaut would be dead.
