The Asphalt Jungle (1950)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 112m
Director: John Huston
Cast: Sterling Hayden, Louis Calhern, Sam Jaffe

Synopsis:

Assorted desperate types plan a heist, but it goes wrong for all concerned.

Review:

Gripping noir crime caper which reeks of its classic status in every scene. The casting is perfection and Huston takes his time over the characters (more so than in Kubrick's similar The Killing), and while the ending is not in doubt (crime could not pay back then), the way each meets his end is admirably done.
