Belle et Sébastien (1965)

£0.00

(Belle and Sebastian)

Country: FR
Technical: bw/1.33:1 TV Mini-series (13 x 26m)
Director: Cécile Aubry, Jean Guillaume
Cast: Mehdi El Glaoui, Edmond Beauchamp, Dominique Blondeau, Paloma Matta

Synopsis:

A small boy growing up in a border village in Savoie rescues a mountain dog and foils a smuggling operation.

Review:

Classic French TV serial which delighted generations of kids around Europe for over a decade in dubbed versions. It was made by Gaumont's television arm and used its locations and second rank cast well, making it seem more like a broken up film than an actual TV production. There was also a catchy but maudlin theme song that lingers in the memory.
