Blindfold (1965)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 102m
Director: Philip Dunne
Cast: Rock Hudson, Claudia Cardinale, Jack Warden, Guy Stockwell

Synopsis:

A psychiatrist discovers that his patient is a physicist sought after by rival international powers, and the girl he meets could be an agent for one of them.

Review:

Enjoyable sub-Hitchcockian espionage hokum (cf. The Prize, Mirage, Charade, Arabesque) with Hudson showing his flair for light material. There is rather too much slapstick, but suspense is maintained through the Everglades setting, with the opportunity for some alligators, and the device of the protagonist's blindfolded journey to the secret location there. Stockwell's character's stutter provides the best comic relief, and Cardinale is at her most provocative in clinging 60s sweaters, apparently sponged down between takes by makeup for that special wet look!
