              The Bay (2012)
![]()
Country: US
Technical: col 84m
Director: Barry Levinson
Cast: Kether Donohue, Kristen Connolly, Will Rogers
Synopsis:
A young reporter gathers audio-visual material suppressed by the authorities to reveal the truth about what took place one 4th July in a small town on the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, where pollution from intensive chicken farming has led to an explosion in parasitic isopods.
Review:
Under the direction of a seasoned professional, this faux eco-documentary certainly packs a punch in the gruesome stakes, and casts actors who undeniably resemble ordinary people. Unlike films such as [REC], it juggles various bits of footage, including CCTV, and the mounting panic in the eyes of the professionals out of their depth is tellingly caught.
