The Bridge at Remagen (1969)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 116m
Director: John Guillermin
Cast: George Segal, Robert Vaughn, Ben Gazzara

Synopsis:

An account of a rearguard action by the Germans, as they attempt to destroy a key Rhine bridge before the Americans can cross, leaving some of their own troops on the wrong side.

Review:

Some well-staged action and affecting characterisation in the Segal-Gazzara relationship, but the narrative was stodgy and generally this addition to the WW2 battle canon was a sixties bridge too far.
