Capricorn One (1977)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 128m
Director: Peter Hyams
Cast: James Brolin, Elliott Gould, Brenda Vaccaro, Sam Waterston, O. J. Simpson, Hal Holbrook

Synopsis:

Astronauts taking part in a Mars mission become part of an elaborate hoax when the launch is cancelled due to equipment failure. Meanwhile a reporter stumbles upon the truth when one of the wives comes to him convinced her husband is still alive.

Review:

A movie based on a conspiracy theory so implausible, if it weren't done so well it would be laughed off the screen. Happily it played as the B feature to The China Syndrome and no one seemed to mind anyway. Hyams keeps the action moving swiftly enough you don't really have time to think, and the cast are game all right.
