Career Girls (1997)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: Metrocolor 87m
Director: Mike Leigh
Cast: Katrin Cartlidge, Lynda Steadman, Kate Byers, Mark Benton

Synopsis:

Six years after sharing a flat together in London, two former students meet up for the weekend, an occasion for remembrances and strange coincidences.

Review:

Leigh's predilection for heightened, twitchy performances finally seems to have got the better of him at first, but then these two fascinating characters come alive in the hands of the actresses and cease to be caricatures. An absorbingly filmed, deliciously scripted gem of a movie, humble in its achievements but ultimately rather moving.
