Carrie (1976)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 98m
Director: Brian de Palma
Cast: Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, Amy Irving, William Katt, John Travolta

Synopsis:

A girl humiliated by her classmates and terrorised by her puritanical mother finally uses her telekinetic powers in acts of devastating retribution.

Review:

One of the better Stephen King adaptations, this meretricious film is nevertheless little more than a display of technique, the interminable slow-motion prom sequence being a standout example. Fortunately, the two leads deliver sufficiently committed performances to take the characters seriously enough when the director is not playing at look-see.
