Checkpoint (1956)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: Eastmancolor 84m
Director: Ralph Thomas
Cast: Anthony Steel, Stanley Baker, James Robertson Justice, Odile Versois

Synopsis:

A industrial spy responsible for the deaths of some Italian policemen attempts to escape to Switzerland disguised as a car rally contestant.

Review:

Good-looking Rank adventure, with Italian locations and splendid colour. One of many films in which Baker kicked his heels as the uninflected heavy during the fifties. Some shading of the Steel/Baker parts in the style of James Stewart/Arthur Kennedy would have lent interest.
