Chloe (2009)

£0.00

Country: US/CAN/FR
Technical: col 96m
Director: Atom Egoyan
Cast: Julianne Moore, Amanda Seyfried, Liam Neeson

Synopsis:

The wife of an Arts lecturer begins to suspect him of having an affair, and, having come into contact with a high-class hooker, employs her to tempt him with her charms and report back.

Review:

Typically plush and well-appointed Egoyan reworking of Anne Fontaine's Nathalie, making more of the relationship between the two women, and developing rather unsatisfactorily into a Fatal Attraction-style stalker thriller. As in Where the Truth Lies, the director successfully persuades his actors into some risk-taking poses, but if it weren't for Julianne Moore's dedicated work this would be novelettish stuff indeed.
