Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 85m
Director: J. Lee Thompson
Cast: Roddy McDowall, Don Murray, Ricardo Montalban

Synopsis:

In the society of the late twentieth century Caesar, the orphaned baby of Zira and Cornelius, has grown up and finds himself in an ape penitentiary, where he leads a violent rebellion.

Review:

Evocative of the student and race riots of the time, this had to be pruned of some of its brutality to retain the family audience so loyal to the series. The prevailing blackness is also partially relieved by a closing speech of reconciliation from Caesar.
