Cops (1922)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 18m
Director: Edward F. Cline, Buster Keaton
Cast: Buster Keaton, Virginia Fox

Synopsis:

Buster's girl tells him he must succeed in business first. His attempts to do so wind up with his being arrested by hordes of police as an anarchist.

Review:

Inventive star comedy with no real plot to speak of, the first half being an elaborate quid pro quo and the second a totally new idea prompted by the annual police parade. Just goes to show, you can make entertainment out of nothing at all sometimes, and here Keaton's inventiveness leads to a succession of gags that threaten to burst out of the screen.
