Dead Poets Society (1989)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 129m
Director: Peter Weir
Cast: Robin Williams, Robert Sean Leonard, Ethan Hawke

Synopsis:

At a boys' preparatory school in Vermont in the 1950s a former pupil turned English teacher shows his pupils how to shrug off their shells of conformity.

Review:

Excellent acting, especially by the young cast, distinguishes this revisiting by the director of an enclosed academic environment marked by tragedy. However, the refinement is at times suffocating, the opposition of entrenched and radical forces too sharply drawn.
