Deep Blue Sea (1999)

£0.00

Country: US/AUS
Technical: Technicolor/2.35:1 105m
Director: Renny Harlin
Cast: Thomas Jane, Saffron Burrows, Samuel L. Jackson

Synopsis:

A scientist takes her sponsor to the offshore installation where she is experimenting on sharks to find a cure for Alzheimer's. However, a side effect of the research is that the sharks have got smart.

Review:

Elements from Jaws and Piranha get re-worked so that the producers can tick off the monster movie clichés, and savvy viewers meanwhile can work out which two of the protagonists are going to be left standing, or floating, at the end. It's all very silly but does reserve one or two surprises of its own.
