Demonlover (2002)

£0.00

Country: FR/MEX
Technical: col/2.35:1 129m
Director: Olivier Assayas
Cast: Connie Nielsen, Charles Berling, Chloë Sevigny, Gina Gershon

Synopsis:

Industrial espionage and torture porn underlie negotiations brokered by a French media corporation between an American distribution company and Japanese manga producers pioneering motion capture pornography in 3-D. An employee in the pay of a third party attempts to manipulate events for a competitor's benefit, but in this game of smoke and mirrors the line between victim and perpetrator is a blurred one.

Review:

Tense, well acted thriller which successfully extrapolates disquieting trends in the online market in pornography. As so often with this director, however, murky intrigue turns into a narrative mess, and there is no one to like.
