Affectionate biopic, delighting in the extraordinary mix of high ambition and kitsch results to be found in this denizen of the Hollywood dustbin. It is also a moving tribute to the fading star of Bela Lugosi, superbly played by Martin Landau. Plenty to entertain movie buffs here, and excellent contributions from the director's usual selection of oddballs.
