Edison, the Man (1940)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 107m
Director: Clarence Brown
Cast: Spencer Tracy, Rita Johnson, Charles Coburn

Synopsis:

An elderly Edison is honoured and looks back over his life's achievements.

Review:

Plainly conceived, and this being Tracy, plainly spoken Hollywood history: family entertainment from MGM, and as such rather whitewashes the ruthless dealings of a not terribly likeable fellow. The Motion Picture industry in spite of itself enshrining the motto: nil nisi bonum.
