El Dorado (1966)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 126m
Director: Howard Hawks
Cast: John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, James Caan, Charlene Holt

Synopsis:

A gun for hire comes upon a town locked in a fight over water rights, and presided over by an old friend who is now sheriff.

Review:

Leisurely, assured star western with all parts refreshingly played, and situations, even slabs of dialogue, borrowed wholesale from Rio Bravo. The intermittent outbursts of action are thrilling, but it is the 'invisible' Hawksian technique, humour and sentiment that command respect and renewable viewing pleasure. 'Ride, boldly ride!'
