End of Days (1999)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: DeLuxe/Super 35 122m
Director: Peter Hyams
Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Byrne, Kevin Pollak, Robin Tunney, Rod Steiger, Miriam Margolyes, Udo Kier

Synopsis:

New York on the eve of the millennium, and a security guard finds himself protecting the chosen bride of Satan from both the groom and assorted diabolists.

Review:

Ridiculous pseudo-revelatory hokum, without an ounce of wit or humour to redeem its lip-smacking mayhem and occasional lapses into quasi-religious posturing (Arnie as crucifixion victim and self-sacrificial impalee). Standout moment: Arnie's face as he is torn between good and evil when he almost consummates the infernal union on a church altar!
