L' été en pente douce (1987)

£0.00

Country: FR
Technical: col/scope 102m
Director: Gérard Krawczyk
Cast: Pauline Lafont, Jean-Pierre Bacri, Guy Marchand, Jacques Villeret

Synopsis:

A sexual bombshell with a heart of gold models herself on Marilyn Monroe and tries to keep happy her impotent would-be writer husband and his simpleton brother who has a penchant for grenade-throwing.

Review:

The rural setting (Provence) and colourful supporting cast complete the sense of déjà vu offered by this super-heated melodrama. It's not badly made and would probably only have been made at all in France, where the native industry nurtures some pretty slender literary properties into films. As a macabre footnote the leading actress disappeared and was found dead the following Summer in that same part of France.
