Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 87m
Director: Wes Anderson
Cast: George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman

Synopsis:

A fox settles down with his wife and kid in a tree home adjacent to the properties of the richest farmers in the county. But despite his resolution to give up stealing chickens, etc. he soon returns to his former ways and draws the fire of Boggle, Bunce and Bean.

Review:

Refreshingly faux-naïf approach to a children's classic after so much lifelike motion capture animation and the semi-live action of Where the Wild Things Are. Not only is viewer sophistication presumed to transcend the demands of verisimilitude made by an increasingly sophisticated minor audience, the script comes across like the Woody Allen-lite comedies of its author and boasts striking departures from the original text.
