Fat Man and Little Boy (1989)

£0.00

(Shadow Makers)

Country: US/MEX
Technical: col/2.35:1 127m
Director: Roland Joffe
Cast: Paul Newman, Dwight Schultz, Bonnie Bedelia

Synopsis:

The story of the Manhattan Project, the delivery by Oppenheimer and his team of the A-Bomb to the US military.

Review:

Well made but dramatically leaden reconstruction of events. It centres on the two men, the General and the Scientist, on either side of the ethical divide without ever rendering the conflict sufficiently dynamic for the screen. The title refers to the code names used for the different weapon programmes, based on Dashiell Hammett characters; the UK title to their effects.
