Folies Bergère de Paris (1935)

£0.00

(The Man from the Folies Bergere)

Country: US
Technical: bw 84m
Director: Roy del Ruth
Cast: Maurice Chevalier, Merle Oberon, Ann Sothern

Synopsis:

An entertainer impersonates his lookalike, a socialite and banker, so that his business partners can cover for his disappearance. The subterfuge is complicated by the fact that the entertainer fancies the banker's wife, and his girlfriend has decided to respond to the banker's advances...

Review:

Thirties comedy at its sexy best: brisk and without too many musical interludes. What's more, the over-the-top Chevalier moments are more than compensated for by the good Chevalier moments.
