The Four Feathers (1939)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col 130m
Director: Zoltan Korda
Cast: John Clements, Ralph Richardson, C. Aubrey Smith, June Duprez

Synopsis:

Out of three suitors one declines to go off and fight, and is given white feathers by the others as a symbol of his cowardice. He decides to act and shows his courage and spirit of self-sacrifice.

Review:

A rather nonsensical story - if he was so brave why didn't he go off and fight in the first place? - is here given classic treatment, with early technicolor battle scenes which for many years were the best of their kind, not least a long reverse travelling shot of charging dervishes. Some of the acting creaks now.
