The Firemen's Ball (1967)

£0.00

(Hori, Ma Panenko)

Country: CZ/IT
Technical: col 73m
Director: Milos Forman
Cast: Jan Vostrcil, Josef Kolb

Synopsis:

The firemen organise a ball but the lack of respect and integrity present among the guests is epitomised when one of the raffle prizes is stolen.

Review:

Ruefully droll view of a society gone rotten and losing its hold on reality, the fire department of course being a metonymy for the Communist Party, the only way Forman could have got the film past censors.
