Country: US
Technical: col/2.39:1 108m
Director: Patricia Riggen
Cast: Viola Davis, Anthony Anderson, Ramón Rodríguez, Douglas Hodge
Synopsis:
G20: A black female American president attends the G20 summit, touting her idea of a fund to help Developing World farmers. Hijacked by disaffected military determined to replace the world economy with bitcoin, she dusts off her own martial skills and reunites her family into the bargain.
Review:
Nearly four decades since Die Hard and little has changed. Even a woman president is nothing new, though it is easy to discern the odd Trump-era detail: narcissistic villain wholly without charm, overseas aid cuts negated, AI deep fakery. Nevertheless, the clichés come so thick and fast it is impossible to take this tantalizingly daft premise seriously.
