Galaxy Quest (1999)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 102m
Director: Dean Parisot
Cast: Sigourney Weaver, Tim Allen, Alan Rickman

Synopsis:

The cast of a cult Sci-Fi TV series, who have been reduced to opening shopping malls and attending fan rallies, are beamed up by Thermians to lead them against a galactic renegade under the mistaken belief that the shows were for real.

Review:

A retread of territory covered by The Last Starfighter whose main target are clearly 'trekkies', hence some amusing digs at that programme and the impossibly knowledgeable fans who follow it. High production values make the contrast between fiction and 'reality' more striking but blunt the edge of parody.
