The Glass Menagerie (1987)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 135m
Director: Paul Newman
Cast: Joanne Woodward, John Malkovich, Karen Allen

Synopsis:

A grown-up son languishes in the home of his genteel mother and introverted sister, whose one comfort seems to be her collection of glass animals.

Review:

Effective, straight, well lit adaptation, bringing out most of the angles. Woodward's thankless role suffers most, her performance so mannered as to render half her lines unintelligible. The flashback structure works quite satisfactorily.
