Heller in Pink Tights (1960)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/Vistavision 100m
Director: George Cukor
Cast: Sophia Loren, Anthony Quinn, Margaret O'Brien, Steve Forrest

Synopsis:

Wyoming in the days of the Wild West, and a theatrical troupe leads a peripatetic existence, driven by the assets and liabilities of its leading lady, Angela Rossini.

Review:

Gentle Paramount western, played as colourfully burlesque comedy and a tribute to the acting profession. Cukor concentrates on the characters rather than the action, which is perfunctory and concerns an errant gunfighter and a few Cheyenne Indians. Actually based on a real-life equestrian performer, this unusual movie is one of Loren's favourites among her own films.
