Hell Is for Heroes (1962)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 90m
Director: Don Siegel
Cast: Steve McQueen, Bobby Darin, Harry Guardino, James Coburn

Synopsis:

A small group of battle weary G.I.s is thrown back into an offensive on a German position, where the action centres on a pillbox with concomitant loss of life.

Review:

Traditional WW2 drama of the kind that would soon be replaced by the big budget escapist variety. Siegel directs some vigorous action but the twin familiar themes of cowardice and self-sacrifice make this routine, of interest chiefly for the ascendancy of its star.
