Hellraiser (1987)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col 93m
Director: Clive Barker
Cast: Andrew Robinson, Clare Higgins

Synopsis:

Bored suburbanites summon demons from their subconscious to satisfy their curiosity for the morbid and the perverse.

Review:

Unusually lusty, and definitely gruesome, horror fiction realised by its author, concentrating on the Lovecraftian realm of unimaginable evil. Unfortunately, once imagined it tends to smack irresistibly of Dr Who, and the visible dolly in one pursuit down a corridor doesn't help. Despite the over-elaborate monster make-up it does succeed in being scary with the skewed logic of these things. Sequels followed (Hellbound: Hellraiser II, Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth, Hellraiser: Bloodline).
