Synopsis:
A wicked priest takes possession of the soul of Hercules' beloved, and he must journey to the Underworld for a magic stone that will restore her. He goes with his friend Theseus, who abducts Pluto's daughter (sic), Persephone.
Review:
Setbound peplum that gets the mythology all wrong (except that Theseus did try to kidnap Persephone) and is of interest solely for the horror elements introduced by Bava. Script and special effects are of Doctor Who standard, the gaudily coloured sets inspired by recent Hollywood successes, as suggested by the Italian title.
