High Plains Drifter (1972)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col/scope 105m
Director: Clint Eastwood
Cast: Clint Eastwood, Verna Bloom, Marianna Hill

Synopsis:

A lone rider visits a lakeside town and does as he pleases in revenge for a past wrong.

Review:

Eastwood channels elements of Leone's portraits of corrupted towns in the Dollars films, while introducing a supernatural element new to the genre. He revisited the theme later with Pale Rider, but the present film carries more assurance, perhaps because of its striking location for red-painted Purgatory and its deliberately enigmatic conclusion.
