Histoires extraordinaires (1968)

£0.00

(Tales of Mystery and Imagination, Spirits of the Dead)

Country: FR/IT
Technical: col 120m
Director: Roger Vadim, Louis Malle, Federico Fellini
Cast: Jane Fonda, Peter Fonda, Alain Delon, Brigitte Bardot, Terence Stamp

Synopsis:

Toby Dammit: a hell-raising English movie star is mobbed by the Italian press but haunted by the devil (Fellini); Metzengerstein: a medieval countess's lover returns as a temperamental stallion (Vadim); and William Wilson: a sadistic Austrian student is pursued by his double (Malle).

Review:

European directors joined the Edgar Allan Poe craze started by Roger Corman with this portmanteau. As always with such things, the quality is uneven, but the with this amount of talent at work there are bound to be points of interest.
