Honkytonk Man (1982)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 122m
Director: Clint Eastwood
Cast: Clint Eastwood, Kyle Eastwood, John McIntire, Verna Bloom

Synopsis:

In the Oklahoma dustbowl a dying country and western singer turns up at his sister's farm on his way to Nashville, and agrees to take her boy on as contestant.

Review:

The last half hour of this poignant road movie gets somewhere near the elegiac mood Eastwood was no doubt envisaging, but can we accept a movie in which Clint dies at the end? There are amusing moments, and the star sings pretty darn well, but the film is altogether too easygoing for its own good.
