The Homecoming (1973)

£0.00

Country: GB/US
Technical: col 114m
Director: Peter Hall
Cast: Paul Rogers, Cyril Cusack, Michael Jayston, Ian Holm, Vivien Merchant

Synopsis:

After a nine-year absence a philosophy professor brings his wife home to the North London house where reside his father, uncle and two brothers. After much psychological gameplaying and jockeying for position, a new status quo is established.

Review:

Peter Hall captures an authoritative performance of Harold Pinter's chilling contemplation of familial roles, with Merchant's character playing wife, mother and whore at different points. The performances are everything here.
