In the Bleak Midwinter (1995)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: bw 98m
Director: Kenneth Branagh
Cast: Michael Maloney, Richard Briers, Julia Sawalha, Celia Imrie

Synopsis:

A bunch of provincial actors put on a production of Hamlet at Christmas in a village church, but there are problems with their 'celebrity' director.

Review:

The epitome of Branagh 'luvviedom', this affectionate tribute to the old souls of amateur theatre is full of the actor-director's own little repertory company of players, and manages to strike some affecting poses in amongst the more archly self-conscious moments of bitter humour.
