John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)

£0.00

Country: US/IT/HK/CAN
Technical: col/2.39:1 122m
Director: Chad Stahelski
Cast: Keanu Reeves, Riccardo Scamarcio, Ian McShane, Common, Claudia Gerini, Laurence Fishburne, Franco Nero

Synopsis:

Back home and with a new dog, Wick is presented with a marker he must honour for a former Mafia associate, who wants his sister ousted from the international High Table. The hit runs smoothly enough, but then he is double-crossed and finds a price on his head.

Review:

Not at all bad as sequels go, this undeniably stylish action thriller contains some smart dialogue amid the somewhat repetitive 'double taps to the head' of expendable assailants. Reeves phones in his performance, saving himself for the strenuous stunt work, but the director lavishes care and attention on his settings, with notable sequences in the Rome catacombs and NYC's Museum of Modern Art.
