Jubilee (1978)

£0.00

Country: GB
Technical: col 104m
Director: Derek Jarman
Cast: Jenny Runacre, Little Nell, Toyah Wilcox

Synopsis:

Queen Elizabeth I visits Britain in her descendant's jubilee year, and is shocked at what she discovers.

Review:

She's not the only one. A comment on the punk wallow of the late Seventies, and this artist's preoccupations with youth culture, no doubt. An obscure script, wooden acting and the general tackiness of the enterprise soon try the patience. At least it's attempting meaning of some sort, which at this stage of the decade was something of a curiosity.
