A King in New York (1957)

£0.00

Country: GB/US
Technical: bw 109m
Director: Charles Chaplin
Cast: Charles Chaplin, Michael Chaplin, Oliver Johnston, Dawn Addams

Synopsis:

A deposed European monarch comes to settle in New York, where he is adopted as a TV celebrity and then accused of being a communist.

Review:

Chaplin's last film as leading man is this rather clumsy piece of self-oriented satire, a sad footnote to his career as a screen comedian in as much as it feels so bitter.
