L.627 (1993)

£0.00

Country: FR
Technical: col 146m
Director: Bertrand Tavernier
Cast: Didier Bezace, Charlotte Kady

Synopsis:

An experienced narcotics cop is assigned to a new precinct, where his unorthodox methods place him at odds with his superiors. Starved of resources to do their job properly, the team struggle to keep their humanity intact.

Review:

Tavernier here has a go at Sidney Lumet, and it is not a bad showing at all, as procedurals go. Full marks for detail and research, but the actors are, as often with this director, just a bit too well scrubbed for gritty realism, and the length is ultimately self-defeating.
