Lady Windermere's Fan (1925)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: bw 80m (24fps)
Director: Ernst Lubitsch
Cast: Ronald Colman, May McAvoy, Irene Rich, Bert Lytell

Synopsis:

Mrs Erlynne threatens to reveal her identity to her long abandoned daughter, and Lord Windermere pays her to keep silent.

Review:

Not much epigrammatic wit here, inevitably, but precious few laughs either. The characters move through their assigned roles with aching slowness, dwarfed by giant and largely unfurnished interiors. Some delicacy in the acting and direction remain.
