The Last Movie (1971)

£0.00

Country: US
Technical: col 108m
Director: Dennis Hopper
Cast: Dennis Hopper, Julie Adams, Peter Fonda

Synopsis:

A wrangler lingers on in Peru after a western film unit wraps. After first wallowing in mezcal and free love, he is asked by the priest to help him stop the villagers re-enacting the dangerous stunts they have witnessed for real.

Review:

Given a million dollars by Universal to make a personal film, Hopper marshals an inordinately large cast and forgets conventional narrative altogether. The results are to be 'experienced' rather than followed, but I suspect have something to do with existentialism.
